Quick start

Create your account and configure your first project. This walkthrough ends with a saved translation value.

You need an invitation and access to its recipient mailbox. Public account registration is closed. An operator can invite you, or an existing workspace Owner/Admin can send a team invitation.

To create a project in someone else’s workspace, you must be an Owner or Admin. A workspace you create yourself makes you its Owner.

Open the account setup email while its 72-hour link is valid. Complete email verification and choose a password of 15–128 characters. Sign in with that email and password.

An existing account keeps its password when invited to another team. See Getting access if you received a workspace invitation instead of an account setup email.

After sign-in, Workspaces opens. You have two paths:

  • To join a team, review Your invitations, confirm the workspace and assigned role, and choose Accept while signed into the invited account.
  • To start your own team, enter Workspace name under Create workspace, then choose Create workspace.

No personal workspace is created automatically. Opening an invitation email alone does not add you to a workspace.

Open the workspace’s Projects page. Under Create project:

  1. Enter a Project name.
  2. Choose the Source language using the language picker.
  3. Optionally use Add initial target language (optional) to choose targets.
  4. Review your source language, then choose Create project.

After creation, Translations opens. Select Languages to review the source and targets. The Languages page shows the source and each target. A new target falls back directly to the source.

Select a language to see Fallback chain. Owner/Admin users can choose a different active Fallback language and select Save fallback. Every chain must end at the source.

Return to Translations, select Create key, enter checkout_success, keep Plain text, then save. Click a language cell, type its value directly in the table and choose Save. You can reopen Translations from the sidebar’s Project group. Other languages remain Missing until you enter their values. Owner/Admin/Editor can edit; Viewer can read.

You can return to the workspace, open the saved project and inspect its language configuration. Other workspace members can see the same project; only Owner/Admin can change these settings.

Your next step is to review team permissions or configure fallback chains. Continue with keys and values. Continue with file import, export and key tags. Prepare an immutable release, then publish to Preview. Continue with the Web SDK quick start or Flutter SDK quick start for application integration. Flutter uses the published localisync_sdk package on pub.dev; Web uses the published localisync_sdk package on npm, with matching self-hosted JavaScript files on GitHub Releases.

  • Invitation expired: request a new invitation from the operator or workspace manager.
  • Create project is unavailable: confirm your workspace role and whether the workspace is archived.
  • Language rejected: use the code rules in Language codes.
  • A conflict appears after saving: refresh, inspect the latest state and review your change before retrying.

Projects start with main. Use Current workspace / Current project / Current branch in the header; upper-level lists preserve these choices. Content menus use the selected branch, while project Settings stays shared. See navigation and the branch permission matrix.

After adding source values, you can optionally connect a provider and review Missing-only suggestions. This requires your own provider account, explicit usage approval and a separate Apply. It never publishes a release.

After sign-in, Dashboard opens your last accessible workspace or offers an inline workspace picker. It summarizes main-branch coverage, recorded activity, tasks and publishing operations. Use Workspaces to manage teams. Read Dashboard for count definitions.
