Create and switch workspaces

A workspace groups a team and its projects. Any invited, verified customer can create one after signing in.

  1. Open Workspaces.
  2. Under Create workspace, enter Workspace name.
  3. Select Create workspace.

The name is trimmed and must contain 1–100 characters without control characters. It does not have to be unique. The new workspace appears under Your workspaces, and you become its only Owner.

No initial project or team invitation is created automatically. Open Members to invite teammates or Projects to create a project.

Use the Current workspace selector in the header, or return to Workspaces and open a workspace from the list. Use pagination to find additional records.

The header shows Current workspace / Current project / Current branch. Changing the workspace opens its last selected project and remembered branch’s Translations page. If you have not selected a project there, it opens Projects. Workspace cards still open the project list.

Your selection survives page refreshes, signing out and signing back into the same account, and later visits in the same browser. Each workspace remembers its own last selected project, and each project remembers its last selected branch. Open tabs remain independent: changing one tab does not switch another. A direct workspace or project URL takes priority over the saved selection.

Only workspace/project/branch IDs are saved locally, separately for each account. Names and access are checked with the API. Clearing browser site data removes these preferences; blocked browser storage keeps navigation usable but prevents persistence after a reload. Preferences do not follow you to another browser or device. Check the workspace name and role before changing settings.

Owner/Admin users can open workspace Settings, change Workspace name, and select Save name. The workspace must be active. Existing links and memberships remain valid because the workspace ID does not change.

Accept its invitation first, or confirm with a manager that you are still a member. Removing a membership takes effect on subsequent requests. A workspace you cannot access is not revealed by the API.

If a saved operation conflicts with another person’s change, refresh and review the latest workspace state before trying again.

The sidebar’s Workspace group contains Projects, Members and workspace Settings. The Project group always contains Translations, Import, Export, Tags, Languages, Branches and project Settings. Content pages use the selected branch; Branches and project Settings are shared. Opening Workspaces, Projects, Members or workspace Settings keeps the selected workspace/project/branch and its sidebar links. These pages remain lists or settings pages; the remembered selection does not redirect you away. The highlighted link follows the current URL.

The header lists up to 100 workspaces, projects and branches. Browse all workspaces, Browse all projects or Browse all branches opens the corresponding paginated list when there are more. A selected record remains named even if it is outside the first 100. Archived selections remain selected and show (archived); existing read-only rules still apply.

If access is removed, the affected selection is cleared. The menu remains visible; opening a scoped item asks for a new selection. A temporary service failure does not erase the saved IDs: use Retry to reload the selection. If you cancel an unsaved-changes warning, the current selection and draft remain unchanged. On mobile, open Toggle navigation menu, then choose a destination; the menu closes after navigation.

The workspace and project menu groups remain visible even when nothing is selected, while a selection is loading, or after access is lost. Workspace/project/branch selectors stay in the header; selections determine the destination, not which menu items are displayed.

  1. Select a workspace page such as Members, or a project page such as Translations, Import or Tags.
  2. If the required selection is missing, the corresponding dialog opens over the current page: Choose a workspace, Choose a workspace and project, or Choose a workspace, project and branch. Opening Workspaces itself does not require a selection.
  3. Choose from the workspaces you can access. Project pages also require a project from that workspace. Content pages require a branch; the first selection uses verified main. Changing the workspace clears the pending project and branch choices. Use Previous and Next in the lists if needed.
  4. Select Continue to … to open the page you originally requested. Access is checked again before navigation, and the resulting selection appears in the header.

Cancel, Escape or the close button keeps the current page and saved selection. The dialog does not open automatically when you enter the panel. If a list fails to load, use its Retry button; a failed access check keeps the dialog open with an error.

If you have no workspace, use Go to workspaces to create one or accept an invitation. If a workspace has no projects, use Go to projects; only Owner/Admin can create one. The same modal works from the mobile navigation menu.

Projects start with main. Use Current workspace / Current project / Current branch in the header; upper-level lists preserve these choices. Content menus use the selected branch, while project Settings stays shared. See navigation and the branch permission matrix.

Dashboard is the sign-in and logo destination. It uses the selected workspace and all active projects’ main branches, independently of the remembered project/branch. Switching workspace while on Dashboard opens the new workspace overview. See Dashboard.
